Dr Peter Kim is a doctor with over 20 years’ experience in the assessment and management of warts in the fingers and foot (plantar and palmar warts) using laser. We often manage cases that were unsuccesful in other medical clinics and podiatrists.
What happens during a wart consultation
During the consultation, Dr Kim will:
- Review your medical history and previous treatments (if any)
- Examine the lesion(s) and surrounding skin
- Discuss symptoms such as pain, bleeding, irritation, or spreading
- Consider alternative diagnoses where relevant (e.g., corns/callus or other lesions)
- Explain clinical considerations and possible next steps
If there is any uncertainty about the diagnosis, further assessment (including referral or biopsy) may be discussed.
Areas commonly assessed
Assessment may include warts located on:
- Fingers and hands
- Toes
- Soles of the feet (plantar warts)
- Other areas of concern (assessed case-by-case)
Discussion of management options
Management options vary depending on the location, size, number of lesions, duration, symptoms, and individual factors.
If appropriate, Dr Kim may discuss options that can include observation, topical therapies, cryotherapy, minor procedures, or other clinic-based interventions. Any intervention is discussed only after clinical assessment and informed consent, and may not be suitable for everyone.
Important considerations
Some lesions that appear to be “warts” may represent other skin conditions. Assessment is recommended if a lesion:
- Changes in appearance
- Becomes painful, inflamed, or bleeds
- Persists despite self-care
- Spreads or multiplies
- Causes functional problems (e.g., walking discomfort)
Risks and aftercare
If a procedure is undertaken, risks may include discomfort, blistering, infection, scarring, pigment change, delayed healing, and recurrence. The type and likelihood of risks depend on the lesion and the approach used, and are explained during consultation where relevant.
General aftercare advice is available in our wound care instructions after skin surgery.
Fees
Consultation fees and Medicare-related information are explained at the time of booking or during consultation.
For a small wart, the cost is $350. An average-sized wart is $500. A discount applies for multiple warts.
If a procedure is recommended, costs depend on clinical complexity (e.g., number, size, and location of lesions) and are discussed before any treatment is undertaken.
Laser wart removal – before and after photos
Featured cases
Treatment-resistant finger wart
Some warts can be particularly stubborn, resisting multiple rounds of treatment over the years.
This 7-year-old patient had a finger wart that had been treated multiple times previously by a GP, a podiatrist, and even a surgeon, without lasting success. She underwent a single same-day laser treatment using our laser wart removal technique, and the photo taken 6 weeks later shows excellent clearance.
This case is a great reminder that even long-standing, treatment-resistant finger warts can be successfully treated with the right approach.
All consultations and laser treatments are personally performed by Dr Peter Kim.

Laser Wart Removal – Plantar Foot
This patient had a stubborn plantar wart that was treated with our laser wart removal technique.

Long-lasting result with no recurrence.
Safe, precise, and effective.
A reliable solution for warts that don’t respond to conventional treatments.

Stubborn Finger Wart Removed with Laser
This patient had a persistent wart on the finger that did not resolve for over 2 years, despite repeated cryotherapy treatments.
After just one session of laser treatment at our clinic, the wart was completely removed. The laser wound healed fully within 2 weeks. While a small scar remains, it will gradually fade over time.
Laser therapy is a highly effective solution for stubborn, treatment-resistant warts, offering faster recovery and long-lasting results.
$500 per session (most need 1–2 sessions)

Multiple Warts Successfully Treated with Non-Ablative Laser
This patient had multiple warts persisting for over 2 years despite:
Cryotherapy by GP.
Cream treatments by a dermatologist.
Chemical peels by a podiatrist.
Instead of improving, the warts multiplied.
Our solution: Using non-ablative laser treatment, we effectively treated all the warts in one 10-minute session. Smaller warts typically disappear after a single session, while larger ones may require 2–3 sessions.
Key advantage: Treating all warts in one visit is efficient and minimises discomfort, with excellent success rates!
